No... Rizz and Ohio are something emerged in early 2023! they weren't even considered Brainrot words back then... The word Brainrot itself emerged in late 2023 and became big by early 2024.

I think 'Brainrot' is a better word than 'Rizz' ૮'ᆺ'ა

because we already have, like, 30 words for charismatic. wat we dont haev is a word(s) for the psycho-pathological corrosion of ones mind due to the internet, short-form content, anti-think memes, and the hyper-speed news cycle ૮^ᆺ^ა

So i'd say this years word is less 'out of hand' than last years ૮ oᆺo ა

The word of the year are always chosen by the functionality and the amount of usage of the word! The word "Brainrot" was used so much that the word itself became the part of Brainrot! Did you know that the words it was competing against were Romantasy, Demure, lore, dynamic pricing and Slop?!

The biggest shock for me while being here that I never got to see any Gen Z or Gen Alpha related words here...... which makes me think that the people here are either closer to being millennials or Forumdex has developed it's own ligustics circle!!

I know how it works, I'm not surprised in the least about the others even if "lore" is quite normal. Ah, don't worry, the amount of zoomers and alphas keep steadily increasing, and millenials here tend to copy these new trends but only if they have something to do with manga.

"Immaculate rizz", "rizziest" "you've got rizz", "you're rizzy" are very much used in real life, you know? In fact, rizz is the only word which isn't only limited to being used as internet slang! Rizz has made it's way to Oxford dictionaries.

In the context of "Brainrot" Rizz isn't really considered brainrot because unlike other brainrot words... Rizz has one inherent meaning which is Charisma! whereas words like "Skibidi", "Aura", "Fanum tax" and much more can be used in various context!

So No! Not Satire anymore!!

I want to see young people too! I want to see young people discovering the fun of interacting with people and having fun... something which Gen Z really lacks!
