Nope, I think it originally started off as a one shot spoof manga and the author just kept going with it because it became somewhat popular / had a small cult following. All I can remember right now is that the art was actually on the darker side, almost like Berserk and the MC was a creep and a pervert who was picking his nose in a bunch of panels.
