For some reason little Yuki being that happy kind of hit me in the gut. I think it's because of the other times we saw her past, so it was like "Was this before she hit rock bottom self-esteem and her mom even told her to stop trying to make friends?"

Seven months later: Hit in the gut again, part of it is also definitely just how excited she was about this idea the professor had that turned out unnecessary to herself in her circumstances, but she put it out there anyway. Little Yuki, a congenital catulus, finding a headset that will work perfectly for her for the first time in her life.
