brooo it's insane to see how this story gets distorted and has its potential completely deleted because of the author's indecision. At first I thought it would be a great work, but as the chapters went by nothing improved, incoherence, a forced and repetitive script that becomes worse and worse as the story goes on, seriously congratulations author for having managed to ruin something good 👍 thank you for giving me hope. and then destroying it completely.

i'm dropping this. it really is just reveal after plot twist after trump card etc, and the story still isn't getting a move on. it had a promising beginning, but... yeah. i can't in good faith recommend this to anyone.

For a story which looks like just random action for action sake this has a good lore, and the various characters make for good group moments.
The lore about the night goddess getting split into pieces was interesting, and how the witches are playing dragonball with the bodyparts to bring the poeces back together.

It would be nice if there were more ambient deities, like we know about the sea and forest gods, but what about the desert or mountain gods and the like? Or maybe the theme is limuted to places which usually ave lots of wildlife? Like the sea and the forest are usually densely populated by animals, the desert and mountains not so much

The monsters become sidelined very fast and the story focuses on human fights, which kinda makes me very slightly disapoint, but the fights are still very, very good.
All in all, very awesomeness, much good.

When following it weekly I didn't care much for the last arc, but on a reread I've come around to liking it.
I have some criticisms with it like the the witches quickly losing a lot of their hype after Arkos showed up, or the Orthros fight going on a bit too long. However, I think every twist was pretty well foreshadowed for the most part. The Lacrima twist especially was very well executed.

By FAR the aspect that I've most switched up on is Altus' inclusion. At the time I dismissed him as an excuse for the author to bring back a dead villain he was attached to. However, now that his character arc has properly began, I can safely say that Altus is a brilliant idea for a character. He's an innocent clone forced to bear the sins of his genocidal past self. He was created as a human weapon, yet his story is about his rejection of the role imposed onto him. He refuses to be defined as either Helem's weapon or as an extension of Arkos.

He's a great foil to Julian. Altus is a slave just like how Julian was in chapter 1, except while Julian broke free Altus physically, biologically cannot resist Helem. Julian carries the souls of 100 people inside him just like how Altus carries the soul of Arkos, but while the slaves are Julian's supporters and allies, Altus and Arkos fucking hate each other. Even Altus' speech in chapter 79 is a reflection of Julian's speech in chapter 28, down to the last pages having the same composition.

I'm honestly inclined to believe that Arkos was specifically created to set up Altus. I always felt that Arkos was in a very weird position where, despite being treated as this huge deal in-universe, he dies after only one arc and doesn't get much personality beyond "Haha I'm evil and I like killing people and shit." I also thought it was a waste for him to kill off Angvall. But now, I think I get what Kuramori was going for with him. Arkos was designed less to be a major character in his own right and more to be a foundation to build another character on top of. While him being comically evil for the sake of it is kinda cheesy, he kinda needed to be like that since Altus' story is all about him rejecting his past self. Arkos represents everything that Altus refuses to become, and just to hammer it home he returns as Altus' literal inner demon a la Yuji/Sukuna.
While I do think the arc went on a BIT too long, my overall feelings on it are a lot more positive now that it's finished.

Chapter 64 tho, it’s bugging me to see when the 3 witches (I think the deer-like creature can be categorized as witches too) only focusing on the waterbender when one of them can take out the 2 non fighters, strategy wise.
