Thought-provoking interpretation. I'd also suggest that between Pochita describing his "dream" as wanting to be hugged, Denji recounting to Pochita that (among other things) he wants a girlfriend, Denji describing his M.O. to Yoshida as naturally exposing his identity in order to garner adoration from women, and Asa's difficulty with intimacy, it would appear that Denji's wanting to be Chainsaw Man is-- fundamentally-- him trying to connect with other people. I mention Asa's internal conflict in order to suggest plausibility by theme.I like how geniune Denji and Nayuta's relationship is, Denji being ready to give up being Chainsaw Man just to save Nayuta's life seems so adorable, but in the end, it's an extremely big sacrifice for Denji.
noDamn is this the first time we see Denji cry?
It's actually about greed, not in a negative way. Denji's dream and expectations used to be much lower, it's been creeping up to him that whenever he gets the life and things he wants he always still hungers for more, newer bigger things and goals that drive him to strive for success after his previous goals have been met. Now nayuta finally confronted him with, is that really enough to satisfy you? And denji is coming to the realization that it isn't and that will push him to go get more. As it happened in the prev chapter: "pick one" vs "I choose both". This happens to most people, once you achieve your goals thinking that will solve everything you start working towards a new goal and the old one alone isn't enoughThought-provoking interpretation. ...that said, even Nayuta could smoke the entirety of Public Service. At the very least, she could dogwalk them all.
