It's just an endless stream of shock scenes. None of the cast have any agency this arc. They're just being puppeted by devils and shadowy government entities that we're lead to believe only came to power since Makima died.

Denji trying to shake those kinds of manipulative forces off has been a theme since chapter one, I don't see the problem. I feel like agency is a word people love to throw around when they feel like criticizing something but can't quite decide why.

Public safety was Makima's employer and was very much a factor in part one.

She made the Gun Devil's appearance in Part 1 look like a joke.

It very much was a joke. Remember Makima had that same finger gun ability Yoru now has? Quite possible Makima had a contract with Gun all the while pretending to hunt for it.

...Did War curve the globe or shoot right through it?

Seems like it went out into the Atlantic, which is a bit weird cause I think going across the US and the Pacific is a way shorter route.

I don't see how it's a fate worse than death. Not aging doesn't mean immortal. Wouldn't it be nice to never have to worry about your knees hurting one day or titties sagging. The only problem is that kids would never grow up. Once a baby, always a baby. So it's still bad, just not as bad.

For a second I thought Fujimoto made the Statue of Liberty shoot through the Earth all the way to Japan, but it probably just followed gravity across the curvature of the Earth. Not even Fujimoto would be that insane

I must say, sacrificing 10k japanese children for eternal youth is a pretty good deal if you aren't a japanese kid. Big picture its helping all humanity, and it's gonna prevent millions of deaths AND it will make the line at the supermarket go a lot faster

Children are the least afraid of aging, in-fact they look forward to growing up. Less children would also make adults more afraid of dying of old age.

Maybe it’s actually a power play to make itself stronger?

It slightly reminds me DevilMan. The protagonist went full devil berserk when he lost the person he was caring about. This is peak writing, the author never stops to amazing with his unpredictable narrative art. Chainsaw man is a true gem. Impressive.
