She knows he has no chance against Death on his own but she'll do anything in order to not admit she can't weaponize him. She's just winging it. War really is dumb.

On the other hand, I wonder how much she cares? If Death does end up destroying humanity, what's it to Yoru?
technically she just made a pact: "I can't turn you into a weapon, and there's no chance in hell you'll beat death, so if you lose you agree to be turned into my weapon and if you win I have sex with you which I want to anyway" Not that dumb

There is some comments about how this is the Makima situation all over again, but I'll argue that this is the opposite to Makima. While Makima never really cared about Denji and only use him to get to the chainsaw devil; Its clear (at least to me) that Yoru no longer (or at least very little) care for the chain saw devil and it's only using it as an excuse to get to Denji. If you pay attention in the begining all that Yoru talked about was "the chain saw devil this, the chain saw devil that, I've got to defeat it" but after their big battle she really hasn't mention it and has all her focus on Denji. Wheter she can actually turn the chain saw devil into here weapon or not does not seems as relevant as how she clearly cares much more about Denji. Remember she was asked to turn "Denji" into her weapon and she does not seam very fond of doing so since she actually likes Denji.

All an all I don't knwo where this is all going but it's a nice mirror to the Makima situation which makes me feel like we are very close to the end of this part

This guy gets it. There are two possible scenarios: Yoru can't turn Denji into a weapon, or Yoru doesn't want to turn Denji into a weapon.

In the last page she literally makes a pact with Denji that given the right conditions she will turn him into a weapon which could work one of two ways: if she doesn't want to, she has an excuse not to turn him; if she can't, she just found a way to do it because she's betting against him.

Makima was nothing like Yoru and the situation is the polar opposite.
Makima schemed in secret to manipulate Denji, Yoru is being loud about how she's manipulating him because she doesn't really mean or is unable to use him.

Makima was a pyscho, Yoru is a tsundere.

Thinking more about it and going furthter into this parallel oposite idea. If you consider the thematic through line of Part 1. It was about how nobody really cared about Denji and where only interested in his chainsaw heart (the chainsaw devil) with Makima being the ultimate enbodyment of this thematic by not eving seeing Denji at all. And this Part 2 it has been mostly the oposite, people acutally caring about Denji and wanting him to be happy withouth the chain saw devil. You have Fumiko wanting Denji to be a happy teenage boy, Yoshida wanting him to live a normal life (at least in the beginng) and Asa proclaming that they needed to defeat the chainsaw devil in order to save Denji. And this case Your being the ultimate embodyment of this thematic by no longer caring about the chainsaw devil at all but rather only caring about Denji. Further more in the final chapters of Part 1, Makima wanted to bring Denji into a state of isolation and suffering in order to draw the chainsaw devil out, where as Your wants to bring Denji into a state of isaolation and suffering in order to draw Denji closer to her.

Going into wild speculations, knowing Fujimoto this whole part is going to end tragic in some way. My prediction will be that since Yoru is all about posetion (thinks have to be heres in order to make them their weapon) she may go full yandere and want a world where she is the only one for Denji making him fully hers a world full of war and desperation where she is his only salvation. So another similar opposite parallale will be having Denji as some distraction so that Pochita (the chainsaw devil) can defeat Yoru (mirroring how Denji used pochita to distract Makima and defeat here). This will go into an overall thematic where Denji can not be only loved as himself nor only love for chainsaw man buth some synthesis where he is accepted and love for both sides of him (hence the breakdown we had chapters ago where he was not satisfied just being regular Denji) Pochita is just as much as part of him and that needs to be embrace

1 i am hoping it has a tragic end
2: i suspect that there is a hierarchy to the devils, and that chainsaw man is NOT a devil, if i recall correctly he ate whatever the concept of his devil was so people forgot what he was. If he defeats the primal fear, he probably will establish himself on the heirarchy and end up with a harem....

That's...actually a good deal considering the fact he got dealt a shit hand. Nevermind it's almost the same deal he had with Makima and the Gun Devil.

We really are back to square 1 it's almost the exact same scenario but for some reason I feel better about her than Makima

I actually don't mind this? Unlike Makima, she is sooo forthcoming that there isn't an air of betrayal. It is just "Hey, I want you too but I also want this thing done, so do this or I use you to get it done eitherway." Idk how to feel really
