I have my critique with part 2 and I still think its not as flawless as part 1 but this was a very good twist.

Fakesawman also thought Fami was Death, and is high on his own supply with the Justice devil. I don't think he's supposed to be taken seriously.

The government isn't the one performing the illusion that gives paper money its value, it's all of us. Society as a whole. And gold and silver aren't any more inherently valuable than paper, they're just soft metals that aren't even useful for creating anything practical.

Clearly fakesawman is comedic relief, but he's also mouthing a recurring theme present in csm which is painting government and its officials as incompetent and corrupt. Also the government forces you to use their currency, and broke the gold standard, which meant that the currency was linked to the amount of gold in it's reserves. That enabled politicians to print money endlessly, making every single bill have less purchasing power which is what is known as inflation. It is literally a scam, while simultaneously forcing you to use their currency. Blurting it like that in such a simplistic way by a demon who's been mouthing simplistic superhero cliché lines is the joke.

Everybody has been going apeshit over the Death Devil's arrival, but she's been here the entire time? Is she really a danger then? I mean, any more of a danger than any other devil.

I mean yeah she def is, and she knows it. She is the one who warned them she's coming, and she also tried hard to kill herself. She also tried to boost Dennis and Asa's powers several times. So it seems she's at the very least not thrilled about ending humanity, but she probably can't stop the prophecy even though she wants to.

Fair, but his point also stands. Gold's practical utility is real but it's also very recent on a bigger timescale. I doubt it would ever have become the currency of choice had it been, for instance, the best weapons-grade metal. It being useless or not very useful (as well as permanent and rare) is a prerequisite for being used as money (kinda like certain sea shells used as currency in the Pacific, cause they were rare and had no useful purpose). Otherwise a part of it would be used for its practical purpose, which would cause deflationary pressure and that goes against the very idea of money being something you trade. You don't trade money in a deflationary setting, you hoard it instead, because it will be worth more tomorrow. Same thing happens in improvised virtual economies. There's legit academic works written on Diablo II economy being based on Stones of Jordan, a fairly useless yet not too abundant item. Like gold, it's not completely useless (it's an in-game item after all), but near enough that you don't think it's a waste to trade it for goods.

Your assumption that they didn't recognize her is dependent on devils having been truthful this whole time. Yoru and Nayuta could easily have just been manipulating everyone just like The Devil Formerly Known as Fami. In fact, I'd say that's way more likely than them just being truthful the whole time. They could also just be idiots lol.
