From what I remember in part 1 the door was a representation of denji surpressing the memory of him killing his dad. So this was stated near the end of part 1 I believe.

That said, Makima assumed that the yakuza made it up to look like a suicide bc they had the motives to, but in the new chapter, Denji seems to be admitting that he's the one to have faked the suicide.

big fan of Asa's mom using the same rock she killed the devil with to kill her abusive cheating husband, makes Asa losing pieces of what her mom gave her (her school uniform, her apartment, etc.) hit even harder because this flashback paints a picture of a mother that was willing to put her life on the line to let her daughter live a better life... such a strong contrast from Yoru's actions right now, huh?

Asa admitting to tripping on purpose in this one instance is gonna leave me thinking about all the other times we've seen her trip until we get another chapter lol, every trip moment after this flashback has been pretty detrimental for her so I wonder if her getting to laugh about all this with Denji (so glad he was there to share his bg and laugh with her about it all) means she'll finally be able to keep herself upright without stumbling. Makes me think about how she didn't (as far as I can remember, please correct me if I'm wrong) trip when she was laughing up a storm running through the infinite aquarium hallway with Denji before too... oh and when she was running with Yuko to give her shoe back to her too! Two major moments with Asa running without tripping and it's tied to two people she got Close with........

I took the tripping as the inability to accept happiness. Most anytime in past frames of her being clumsy or falling is usually around those that are happy or about to partake in something that is happy. I feel as though, her tripping and feeling happy about her dad dying but also guilty about it is what makes her clumsy. Subconciously not allowing her to feel happiness completely due to her guilt.
