This was a peak CSM chapter. It was still a battle but it was interesting to read not just a trade of escalating punches, and the plot moved forward. I wonder if the missing devils he ate are a clue to how his power works. Why specifically underline the devils he had chained onto his body were missing? Seems it was mentioned for a reason

Also Yoru getting annoyed at Denji for escaping never gets old

I also think Yoru remembering teeth and legs after they were vomited is important. It ties directly to when Denji threw up coffee and snow, and he realized Pochita doesn't eat devils to make him forget, he eats them so he can make Denji remember. So the remembering seems key. Remembering is becoming aware of what you had lost. Just eating things you won't remember wouldn't be a very effective threat to get Asa back, as Yoru would never be fully aware of what was lost

hell is where all devils go after death to be reborn… primal devils are pretty cool/terrifying but I’m very curious if we’ll see any returning faces in this sequence…….

hell was also visually pretty stunning in part 1 so I’m looking forward to seeing more of that here lol

All the peak CSM chapters are in part 1.

That arch in the final panels is crazy good. That's too much cake for Denji to eat alone.

What if Denji eats the chains devil and then has one hell of a time fighting until he's forced to throw up a bunch of stuff?

As for his true identity, I'm gonna guess it's not just being forgotten but specifically Damnatio Memoriae: Pochita was in such a weak state beacuse the idea of being erased from history as a punishment is not only kinda historic but also greatly weakend by first the invention of the printing press and then the internet. But of course, it's still the most terrifying thing for every other devil because they run on fear. It's not that they are forgotten because Denji has eaten them, it's that Denji causes them to be forgotten and they stop existing as a consequence, until reinvented. This is a different kind of death for them than being in the cycle of reincarnation.

I think it kinda works with Denji and Pochita's relationship. Pochita has someone who will remember him forever, and Pochita wants him to be normal rather than becoming a significant enough figure as to ever risk Damnatio Memoriae himself.

Anyway. That's my crank theory. I look forward to being wrong and the 0.01% chance of being bang on and this comment being rediscovered in 10 years and being hailed as a prophet. I fear, however, that my presence here will one day be forgotten by everyone...
