incredibly fucked up of Fujimoto to reference Reze teaching Denji how to swim and Makima's "Save me, Chainsaw Man" line almost back to back, was a hell of a way to start my day

I know I keep talking about Asa's "role" in all of this but I love (read: suffered great pain from) Yoru taking advantage of Asa being casted as the damsel in distress to halt the fight and put the focus on Locust (Seraphim?), forcing Denji out of the villain role he was taking advantage of and forcing him to be the hero once again

and speaking of heroes, Pochita had a very Kamen Rider-esque look as the "Hero of Hell", I wonder if Locust is also meant to play off of that since early Kamen Rider designs used bugs for their general theming...

He ate and killed Makima because she was purposefully tearing down his "normal life" to awaken Pochita and constantly trying to kill him so she could control him. I believe his "love" for her was just a guard in his mind to keep him a bit more sane after eating her as she herself never loved Denji, he even said after eating her that all she paid attention to were smells of beings that intrigued her. Asa is different cause their love is reciprocal, and the current part 2 will come down to how both of them are gonna handle (if they even manage) the third wheel Yoru, although it looks like even she has started developing feelings for Denji due to her shared brain.

Locust having a connection to Fami and it eating up a lot of devils to get stronger makes a lot of sense why it could jab Yoru like that. That or she's pretending.

By the way, what chapter have they reached with Reze? I have no doubt we'll get a new season, but I don't know how much content it will contain.

The end of Reze's arc is Ch. 52. The new season will probably the IA arc and the Gun Devil arc, which is 27 chapters. Even with shorter chapter lengths I think Part 2 currently has more content than Part 1, but with how fast fights from the previous arcs have been it's not by much lol

Let's hope the manga can maintain enough hype that we get a full adaptation.
