The point is that Crustaceans and Insects have a more closer ancestor than you or I with them.
That's a stupid thing to point out. Tomatoes and apples are both fruits but most people are only gonna put one of these two in a fruit salad. Classifications aren't the end all be all.

We also must keep in mind that Fujimoto, as the RFK Jr. of mangaka (the dude literally ate his GF's dead pet goldfish), might simply be speaking ftom personal experience, as @fight2live did. (The crickets my friend and I ate were tiny, thoroughly roasted and spiced, so can't speak to the underlying flavor)

I think it's just the nature of war. War is dirty, there are no rules in war.
There are rules. They're called War Crimes and they are established for a reason under various international treaties.

What Yoru just did is known as Perfidy. A false truce or surrender. Perfidy is a war crime because if people commit it surrenders and truces become meaningless and all wars are fought to the bitter death of one side because the other side can't trust that they've actually surrendered or brokered a temporary truce. Commiting Perfidy is tantamount to declaring this isn't even a war anymore but an all out animalistic slaughter. There's not actually a lot of rules about how war should be fought but this is one of them and as such is one of the biggest ones.

In other words: War broke the Rules of War and is no longer War.

I doubt its as nuanced like that buuut Yoru did say that if she didn't beat csm at his best then it didn't count or something along those lines when putting Denji back together, so its kind of like that. I don't think she'd feel like she beat him if she cheated

The more I think about it, the more pissed I get if the visit to hell and eating the no name locust doesn't pay off.
So basically we learned hell is empty? And that there was a very strong devil whos name we dont know who was just eaten.
If these two things don't impact the plot somehow we literally wasted 2 chapters in nothing.

This fight is so fucking boring. Jesus. This is like 15-20 straight chapters of Yoru pointing her finger at Denji and buildings blowing up? And it's just that basically every week. How do we go from using the power of nukes, to a locust devil and this is supposed to still have some sort of impact? This shit sucks. Wrap this up already.

The difference in quality between this and part 1 is so stark.

Hard disagree. Any part of warfare we try to ban via international treaties is exactly the stuff of nightmares that gave birth to the war devil. She's not exactly borne out of the fear of being taken POW and treated fairly. If anything, flaunting any "rules" of war would make Yoru that much more the War devil.

Not to mention that what you call rules of war are just treaties. Just laws and conventions. War is not a game, there's no rules as a part of the concept itself. If you're still in doubt, here's a sad reminder that even chimps engage in war. That's how primal and old it is. What rules do you think they follow?

No there are rules to war. I know animals can conduct raids and war just the same as us but Perfidy is one of the few actual rules of war that make it war in the first place and not just wholesale slaughter. We've had these rules since before the stone age when about 15 warriors from each group would just show up with shields and spears and scream at one another for an hour before two dudes would wrestle for a bit and then call it a day. Our oldest most primal form of war, at least for humans, has always had Perfidy be against the very idea of what "war" is. Ares is tempered by Athena. Surrender of the losing side, truces negotiated, are always respected. I'd argue that it's the only rule to war.
