This is a very different chapter. A lot of the chapters have been action or a direct thought put to page. This one really makes you think. Denji's final thoughts are arguably the reader's thoughts in regards to the last few chapters. Maybe a lot of the deaths would have had more impact if we knew the full stories behind each person who died. The violence devilman was said to be the strongest once you remove his helmet and he gets instagibbed by shadow. We know nothing of the chinese devils outside of Halloween. But to be honest, does that matter at this point? Would we really enjoy it more if the author burned a week's chapter on telling us the backstory of the violence devilman? Would we enjoy a month long side story of the chinese devils and what each one of them represents?

That is a very good point. How much would that change at the end of the day if we knew? Instead, Fujimoto focused on what we and Denji know and got to know, in this case, Power and their relationship.
It was a very touching chapter that really showed the growth of two people (arguably) and how one grew to rely on the other due to trauma, and the other grew to be there for the other person in spite of his desires. Power seems to be the main contender for the Denjibowl at this point. Makima is just an object of lust and Reze was somewhere in between, but she got killed before she could actually enact the change in Denji, but also after she herself changed for the better. I wonder how Denji would feel if he found out what happened to her.

There is something wrong with the votes on the contest. Kobeni's numbers are
lower than the 10th and 11th rank, despite her being at 8.
Also if you look closely at page 18 you can see porn mags on the floor in Denji's room. XD

Subverting expectations... this is really overused phrase nowadays, but i sincerely think it fit the finale of this arc, to put it plainly... this finale is crap, but it isn't. For all intents and purposes, it accomplished a core necessity of this manga as a whole, Denji personal growth he understood so many little facts of life that we normally take for granted and really reached a really mature conclusion, you might say that his conclusion just put him in the same place he was before but now he has a more nuanced understanding of what will necessary for him to live the life he so much desires.

I am truly impressed, this author toke some of the worst errors a writer can do and turned them in the strength of this arc... this is... amazing.

Badassness is on the other side of the door. I also approve of this chapter.

@Woodchipper it's surprising you can say that she's winning when one of the points of this chapter was to say that he doesn't feel that way at all with her... Also, he previously said that she doesn't like her that way because of her mentality and behavior, what's true is that she's the one closer to him and one of the characters he cares the most, but not like that.

It's also funny that this is probably one of the few times where he took his time to deeply think about everything that has been going on, and all just to reach to the conclusion that he's better off not thinking about it.

On Page 9 I see a great difference between the MangaPlus translation and this. On this chpater Denji says: "I don't need hospital food though, so i came here to eat" Meanwhile, on the MP translation it says: "He said he didn't want his hospital food. So I eated it."

Can anyone explain why is there's such a great differece between the 2?

I must make it clear that I'm not complaining in any kind of way, I'm just curious about why it is so different.

Best regards, thanks for the chapter!

Also: Power on 1st means she will get the Nobel.

@ArtzarB does it matter? it's not like that line was at all critical to the plot. it's probably a sentence that just didn't grammatically translate well, and changes had to be made for it to work.
good chapter.

Power getting #1 is a surprise. Why is she so popular? I would have thought Makima takes #1 easy and Himeno way higher than that.
