I translated this because the new ending looks nothing like the original, and I though there was some value in knowing how the author intended to finalize it years ago.
I also did it because Scanlations Bitter Change doesn't plan on translating the webcomic.

I'm wondering but before the webcomic epilogue, did something happen like in the serialization? (like the accident which cause them to switch back).
Feels like something is missing, even if the rest is from the serialization.
And is it Yui inside or Yuuta who lived as Yui now?

@KN-XIII in the original webcomic there's a huge timeskip between after Yuuta ask Yui for being always together in the park, and this chapter, and nothing of what happened in between is explained. We were hoping it'd someday be explained in depth in the serialization but that day won't arrive anymore.
As for this ending, it's alwaysbbeen assumed Yui committed suicide in Yuuta's body but there's nothing sure about it. And it's also implied that Yuuta kept living as Yui, but again, we can't know for sure if that's true.

Thanks for the explanation.

So I guess it's an assumption? I read somewhere that the Yui at the epilogue was married to Tachibana, so it would be natural to think it was Yuuta in Yui's body. But after reading the actual chapter, nothing is actually clear.

Maybe, the serialization version could still somehow end up in the same kind of ending, just a bit differently?

@KN-XIII yeah, Yui married with Tachibana is only an assumption. I think it is true, but there's no way to know for sure. As for the new ending, all I can say is you have to wait for SBC to translate it, but it isn't like this one at all.

no lo llegue a entender bien al final, según me entere por ahi dicen que yui en el cuerpo de yuuta se suicida por sufrir disforia de genero y que este se queda con el amante de los fideos, eso sinceramente seria un final que no me gustaría (por la muerte de uno de los personajes digo, no por todo lo demás) pero estaría genial si explicaran bien porque dejarlo en manos de la interpretación de los lectores como que no queda muy bien. asi que aunque a muchos no les gusto por ahora me quedo con el final feliz que dieron después.

wow if that suicide theory was true that'd be real heavy stuff to swallow, but i think it's the most rational way with how Yui's real personality is

but probably that, again, is too dark and the serialization was changing Yui and Yuuta overtime (probably) to suit the happy ending route, idk

can't say for sure if the webcomic ending is better since i can't read the whole webcomic but still, both are good endings for how it is

I'm late to comment but thank you so much for translating this. What a sad ending, both of the different endings are so interesting but this one definitely is the most interesting from also a philosophical standpoint. It's a long shot, but would you ever consider translating the webcomic version as a whole?

Web comic version really sad depressed. For me Web version like the other timeline everything happened!

It made the published version turn out really worth and precious for Yuuta and Yui can be together like always forever!
