Some Tsunderes are alright if they’re not taken to the extreme; which many are sadly. And if their character develops. After all, it’s really just them not being honest with their own feelings and putting up a front, as well as an oblivious MC not picking up on their admittedly vague clues, which leads to the self-perpetuating cycle. Mikoto from Index/Railgun and Noelle from Black Clover are examples of this. They’ve gotten much better and have significantly toned down their confrontational style and have become better people for it. Mikoto fought and saved a bunch of her clones with the help of Touma, and Noelle has ditched her classist and elitist attitude to the masses after fighting alongside Asta. If the MC is actually aware, he/she just needs to tease them and that Tsun will set fast:

Side note: my favorite Dragon Quest character is perhaps the biggest tsundere I’ve seen. Debora from DQV was included as a joke bride to make the player character’s life hell, but she is so brazen and over-the-top that it’s actually hilarious. Her comments on every event and every person make it sound like you’re traveling with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. And to balance things; she’s actually a very good but strict mother and does in fact truly love her husband, which of course she naturally admits right before the end boss.
