I should stop coping. In a lot of mangas I’ve read where the MC already has a love interest, it doesn’t matter whether the girl likes him back because he wouldn’t actually get with the girl and instead has to make a decision where it’s usually for the girl he found problematic.

Because 99% of the time it's not the author's fault. it's either;
1. Publisher likes money so they'll milk it dry even if the author doesn't want to continue it or already had plans how to end it.
2. The manga doesn't sell well so the author have to end it prematurely
