It was clear for a while it was gonna end in a nothing burger but my god even the vtuber-friend plot didn't go anywhere like it was nothing on every aspect still a cute read

author is the same one who is doing "starting today, we're childhood friends" maybe he got burned out with doing both and one of them is clearly very popular than the other

Really hoping that's the case, but this ending has me kinda worried for that series too. Even for a super rushed ending, this one was bad. It would literally just feel like any other chapter to somebody who didn't know this was the ending. Not a single plot point gets resolved/tied up, we're basically right where we were at the very start of the series.

Okay, I'll admit that while I expected an open ending I didn't actually expect no ending at all; this just reads like any other chapter except it happens to be the last. Oh well.

Still, people calling this a waste of time...did you not enjoy all the chapters until now? Were you grimacing while torturing yourself with a story you didn't like, in hope that you'd be rewarded in the end? That's the only way I could see this being a waste of time, and that seems pretty masochistic. The fun along the way was still there.

If you want something similar with more plot, Starting Today We're Childhood Friends by the same author is much longer and has actual development and is still running, while maintaining the same naive cuteness that hopefully you enjoyed here.

Personally I’m not a fan of the MC obsessing over a girl for 90% of a series only to finally realize that the girl that’s been there for them the whole time actually likes them so now they have to reciprocate despite never having thought of them romantically before.
