This is one thing I hate about modern anime/manga...
The idea of the legal loli...
Now, all short girls are put as loli... when before, there used to be a time when short girls were just short girls and not loli (looking like a child).
Even if they were called "children" it was to do with their size and not their looks at the time.
And it fit because their art style was still adult.
But now, they just make the kids midget adults rather than giving them some uniqueness and almost all short adult ladies are now considered lolis....

Well this is a kinda evolution on what's a loli, now being full fledged an umbrella body type with your shortstacks, petite, lolibaba, and the classic loli.
But even then you had oppai loli, lolibaba, the most child-like looking Loli, even people called toddlers Loli. There wasn't an specific body proportion of what is a loli, even in Japanese circles.
Just think of loli as a body type rather than age/apparence, it's easier than going in that tangent lol
Unrelated but I might use the Early Access loli stuff, is too good.

The thing is, loli are just bait for pedophillia.
And those "legal" loli are just cheap justification for being attracted to children.
And then, we controversy occurs due to a short yet stacked girl and people thinking pedophillia, we try to argue that....

Loli itself is a term that has existed and used way back to the 80s in Japan.

No, they were called childish (loli). And yes, the term loli was used for years... I never said the TERM was new.... but the trope where an adult woman apparently looked like a child wasn't....
They weren't thought of as loli and they looked like children. As in, people realized they were actually women. They were just considered short women.
But nobody at the time thought of them as adults that look like kids. it wasn't pedophilia with an excuse back then... it was just short women with loli being almost an insult targeting their height...
Taiga was actually a popular young lady and it wasn't with the pedo crowd.

Words and their usage can change over time, same with the word loli, woke, and cuss words.
Yeah sure maybe the word loli wasn't as prominent then, but the way it's being used now describes a petite fictional female character, mostly from anime or manga. And loli is more so used as a body time than age, and I know everyone will roll their eyes at this but look at the the typical 10000yo loli vampire sex demon girl troupe. Yeah sure you might be afraid of the word letter word but that doesn't change the fact that loli is used as a way to describe a body type these days, and honestly, it's just easier to say loli instead of midget girl or short girl and we'll all know what to thing of.
