This is a story from one of my professors from when he was in grad school. They had a guy in their cohort called Hot Brian. Hot Brian was a handsome dude, but he loved piss humor. Hot Brian would be flirting with the bartender while pissing on the floor in front of the bar. Hot Brian would aim his stream straight up, then catch it in his mouth, as a party trick. Hot Brian climbed on the roof and peed on people's heads as they left the house.

You'd think Hot Brian was a sexy type, but he was unhinged. Like this manga. I have a theory that these kids were exposed to sexual content at too early an age, and now they're performing it without knowing what sex is. I bet their moms hook up and watch porn in the living room when the kids were three or something. How else do they get like this?!

I was too. But you weren't watching porn all day when you were 1 were you? Watching porn as a 10 year old will mess you up a lot less. The fetish is less of an issue than the underlying distress. Often these fetishes are ego-dystonic (closer to pure OCD if you know what that is) rather than ego-syntonic. That makes all the difference.

whats the endgame? Nothing has made them conscious of eachother despite going this far, so how am I supposed to reqlistically picture these to ending up together anyways?

I don't get it. We had this many chapters to establish and explain the comedic gimmick, and the commenters here are still baffled and offended that these characters behave the same way they always have throughout the story.

Issue is there’s no endgame to this romance. There’s no progress to this story.

Even if this is slice of life every slice of protag has some sort of goals or wants in there day to day lives to achieve.

If they want to keep the dynamic fine, but if their aren’t going to be any benchmarks for the romance the author should atleast write in a seperate goal for the both of them or expand on their characters beyond doing common romantic tropes in front of eachother every other time.

Like for example really think about this chapter. Really think. How is this chapter any different from previous ones? They both don’t do anything beyond getting naked AGAIN for a “joke.” Atleast try to be funny if your trying to make a gag manga. This is literally just glorified porn at this point. The one thing I’ll give it is the sidecharacters are interestingish.

What romance? By now we should know the circumstances of these characters enough to know they're not romantically involved (yet?) or platonic lovers at best. Normal romantic progress is clearly not the main point of the story and it's only been nine chapters anyway.

Not really. SoL is exactly the kind of storytelling that gets away with not having plot, conflict or ending. It's a key aspect of this manga, too, because it tells you how these weirdos function in daily life and how others react to their weirdness.

the sidecharacters are interestingish.

They're an important part of the setup, playing the role of straight men and audience surrogates and even have their own quirks. I think we can expect interesting development from these extras as is typical in stories where the main cast are static characters.

Based on the manga so far, they don't do this with other people. They don't mind other people viewing them as strangers and they only befriend those who accept their relationship without buzzing around or reprimand them.
