I won't repeat degrading "goods" terms here. But putting succinctly:

• Having experience vs no experience is fine
• Having a crime committed against you shouldn't degrade you
• Having unsociable personality issues WILL reduce your chances at happiness
• Having single status beyond a certain age DOES hurt prospects due to health issues, social stability, and cultural availability

I think it's more a matter of "don't be unsociable if you want a relationship".
And "in a mutually beneficial relationship both sides have to agree. Else move on."

Unless there is something deeper offscreen, MC should have moved on.
As should have anyone else in this situation. Mainly due to age-related health and social stability concerns.
