as long as ppl don't do anything improper, surely there are co-ed saunas that'd be cheaper than a love hotel fee lol

Also, what's that with 90 degrees (I'm assuming Celsius, since Fahrenheit would be ridiculously low ...)?
In such a small sauna, that would be way too hot. They would definitely not look so relaxed.
On the other hand, sitting on the lower level seems logical at that sort of temperature.
Or what do you say, Käärme?
(Unless you belong to the "insane-core" Finns or Russians.)
My mum's from Finland, and in such a small sauna, I'd have aimed at approximately 70 degrees.

You are supposed to sit higher than the top of the stove in a sauna.
Did you notice the temperature? That's an argument for sitting low.
Also, it's an electric stove, so you'd want to do löyly, which would be suicidal with that temperature up high in that small sauna.
The electric ones get so dry and nasty, if you don't do löyly ...

Even with that temperature setting, I don't think it would feel that hot sitting on a bench directly on the floor. There's even a window (large vent?) directly above the stove, which would take much of the heat straight out of the sauna. But yes, if the sauna is designed like that, you'd certainly want to get the heat up. If it had proper raised benches, I'd also want the temp to be a bit lower in a small electric sauna.

You throw löyly in all saunas, no matter the type, so certainly the temperature should be such that you can do it. Personally, I don't prefer overly hot saunas.

I agree.
I know a few people (surprisingly often sort of macho guys ...) who think the whole point is to superheat the sauna. Not my thing.
I'm also not a fan of Aufguss. Partly for the same reason, and partly because it feels like I basically get coated with the stuff that generates the smell - both outside and inside.
Bleh.
Among other things, I go to the sauna to feel refreshed afterwards, not to feel like I have to wash off smelly particles, and try to cough up the same from my lungs ...
I've also seen the practice in place where basically you're not allowed to enter or leave the sauna when the Aufguss is performed. Truly disgusting.

Sauna should be a place where you sweat, relax, get cleansed, let go of the stresses of modern life, and if people feel like it, you talk about life, the good stuff.
Some of the best conversations I've ever had have been in a sauna.

Still, this manga is sort of fun ...

And oh! That vent placement is ridiculous!!!
Same goes for only having one bench level. I've actually never seen that in real life ...
