She's either messed up somehow and the spell got reversed, or she's deliberately just bound herself as the slave of our MC...Also did she spent time as a owl watching over the village? That doesn't sound very interesting.

This is just stupid now. We get a flashback telling us why she should be redeemed and then MC gets trapped into being a "slave" (prob not at all). All this just for a new girl companion. I want to move on from this arc and actually find the shit that will save his friend, is that not possible? Chapter 28 is when we started this arc, and it was released 11 months ago. Come on author we spent a year in the village when it was only really like a week MAX stop milking it already. What about the demons who would watch the healing mage with great interest? Why not build on them? I'm gonna wait and read 2 more chapters and if it isn't resolved then, I'm dropping.

I actually didn't mind this arc, though probably because I actually like the new character (Nea? Does she have a real name yet?)
Though I can understand people being annoyed at the arc, given that it started almost a whole real time year ago.
Also, chap 28, right before we see Nea for the first time, the party encounters an odd owl. Explains the owl bit there.

More seriously, apart from the obvious joke, I don't understand the complaints. This was a goody-two-shoes stereotype manga from the beginning. Clearly something to read in the evening, whne tired and looking for some cheap entertainment.
The MC was the classical shonen protagonist, too good for this world, since the very beginning. I actually think it's a decent manga for its genre.

Sure, our MC is the typical all-forgiving MC that tends to end with a troupe of girls dragging behind him and I hope no one was expecting some gritty stuff out of here. But this arc is ... bad.

I mean, just compare this with the arc about that demon he fought and saved in the battlefield. In one, we have a child soldier ( somewhat ) forcefully encased in a cursed armour and that was fighting because she literally knew no better ( so, the MC had a good reason to save her ) . In other, we have a half vampire that learned necromancy and that likes to collect specimens in her live toy village. After trying and failing to entrap the MC , including using the MC companions and a not so dead dragon to fight for her and that backfiring, she bloodbounds herself with the MC forcefully. So ... all good?

One of those plots makes sense , the other ... not

I won't deny that this is one of the weakest arcs. Other arcs have been better for sure, this one is kinda weak yes. But well... for that matter,I thought that the school arc with the bullying was worse. Because honestly... it didn't have much place in the whole story (not likely that the two young students are going to matter anytime soon, they're too young. Unless there's time skips.) The most relevant part in that arc was the weasel girl who wanted a friend but mistrusted humans.

While certainly forced, and apart from the obvious harem tropes, I think this arc "fits" with the general undercurrent of the entire story. That is the fact that the MC never discriminates about anyone, even in a wolrd where demi humans and monsters are heavily discriminated against. And yes this is a strong shonen trope, but the author is obviously very set on it.
- We have Amako, already a set party member.
- We have an up-and-coming "demon knight" that's going to join the party soon. Literally enemy people to the kingdom that summoned the MC.
- We have the weasel girl who became a friend in the school arc. Not likely to join the party or harem, but still there.
- And now, the vampire necromancer hikikomori girl joins the party. Another weirdo for the party/"harem", to show that the MC doesn't care about race or anything else.
Let's face it, we literally have one normal girl (the heroine) for now as a possible romantic/party prospect... and three demi-humans. She's outnumbered three to one XD

I'm just saying, I like this manga for what it is. It's not my favorite arc... but it fits with the general theme. And I still find it pretty entertaining, all things considered.
