I don't understand how this mindset-- that yuri stories need to focus primarily on the romance, or else be bad yuri-- is so prevalent. Would you prefer that any story with romance, but where that romance isn't the main focus, be straight? Surly you want yuri to show up in more stories, not less?

I feel like people are so used to yuri being contained to its own little bubble, that when they search with the girl's love tag they automatically assume that every story that comes up has yuri as the focus, and are disappointed when that turns out to not be true. But like, that's not how genre tags, or genres in general are supposed to work. No action fan is going to complain when a political drama has a couple of action scenes. No drama enjoyer is going to complain when an action has a few dramatic chapters. No straight romance enjoyer is going to complain when a fantasy epic has a few couples in it.

I think that as yuri readers, we should be excited that yuri is expanding to new horizons, even if we personally prefer more traditional styles of yuri.
