@Anitvenomz Lobotomy doesn't quite work that way. Which was part of why that is why I mentioned that at the end. Besides, sterilization was important even for procedures from decades ago (and I dont mean eugenics, but rather regarding microbes on the equipments, also known as disinfection. Although I suppose decades ago some people found the former important as well... luckily only one - the latter - kind survived the times). And there was none of that for that saw or forehead.

I'm guessing the Doctor lady's backstory: she starts working as an assistant doctor meets a young child who is in need of a heart(most cases in medical manga) next on the list but a rich powerful old man who smokes and drinks has a heart attack and is need of a heart so the hospital gives old rich guy the heart in exchange for a nice donation. Kid dies lady doctor sees the world as evil and wants to cure it reason why she joins up with the main character considering how he destroyed his father a high ranking official.
