Aka., the reason Amy acts like that is because she considers herself as the Chosen One, and believes that as long as the situation falls in line as the game plot, everything would work out for her just like it does for the game protag.

Let's be real, the usual "I will be leaving you for this girl" villainess drama setup is so overused that it barely affects the ire of readers. However, what the author did here is sublime: they managed to make a setup where every reader's blood would boil once you read it. This kind of despicable character writing reaches Gantz-tier evil, and that's high praise in that regard.

Personally I'm desensitized to the whole getting married to someone else cliche, that's not why I'm pissed, what I'm actually pissed about is that smug bitch getting away and that we have to painfully wait for her to get what's coming to her.

I always felt like these scenes are where he should do some American Patriotism (Or should that be "american youthful indiscretion"? Other?), and pop amy right there and then right in the school (and maybe the crown prince too). He already crafted the american schoolkid's iconic tool-of-choice anyway.

Everything would work out in terms of justice, but the kingdom's authority would be undermined to the point that uniting against the Empire might actually not be possible. It might also impact the empire's motivation to keep Ana alive.

If MC knew exactly where Ana was, the father would probably give the ok anyway, but not with this lack of information.
