So basically this little arc concluded with the dad deffo had an emotional affair at work whilst married cause he would’ve said it straight up and mc has deal with his bs
It's actually occurred a lot in real life that a couple doesn't have emotional support anymore after years of wedding even without an act of cheating. His dad chose to give up on that ties which is his dad fault of course. Maki's reaction is normal even with the fact his dad want to support him as his biological dad. As a child in his family, maki just want a normal dad and normal family

His mother should get a new father for him so his biological can go live with regret or just moving on

"I wish I hadn't
bought you dinner
right before you
dumped me on your front porch!
Gimme my money back, gimme my money back, you bitch!🎶"

Sometimes it's caused by strict asian parents.
Strict parents is necessary for the kids to grow without concern in the future. It's a boost for his confidence that he did prepared enough in his childhood to live without his parents.

But too strict of a parents is definitely a lack of communication

Shit got surprisingly deep for a rom-com. It's also good to see a normal friendship between two people, talking about real issues.

...with no one checking the other's tits or legs every two frames. Makes me realize KanoKari has become a real shitshow.

I was so scared it was gonna turn into nitta getting between maki and umi somehow
Thank God this series is actually well written and not willing to throw random drama in just for the sake of it :hearts:

That is indeed messed up.

Fighting over a bill. Classic. It's really not a huge bill either. Well, if you've got a job.

They're both so sensitive towards each other.

Just talking is nice once in a while.

Well at least Maki can make a step forward moving on.
He might not really be completely out of it but at least he can something to make himself make a step forward.

That's something I cant agree with. His mother needs to be happy and not do something for his sake more than she already did. She is a hardworking widow and put the bills on the table, even if it means sacrificing her time with him.

Knowing her Divorced due to lack of affection, I hope If she decides to get married. I want her to marry someone who will loves her and her son for eternity.

Funnily enough, as real as this chapter sounds like, the roots of the current conflict are still lack of communication.
Number 1 reason of break up is lack of communication, number 2 is cheating, and number 3 is Fading feelings. They got the third and first combo. Enough to even do divorce before maki become 18. For anyone who think about divorce out there and somehow reading about my comment. Communicate first, then think about your children.
