Better is kind of subjective. The anime art is closer to the LN source and I will agree that the girls generally look better, but god DAMN the Maki there is just John Romcom Protagonist #251836.

Anime version is unique enough tbh, much messier hair than manga's, aligned more with Osabe Tom's ver (LN's 1st illustrator before Azuri replaced him from Vol 2 onwards) and a bit awkward looking. It's mostly his eyes being big is my nitpick as well other jp comments for being a bit too handsome lol.

I don't know what kanji is used in the raws, but the kanji "spring" 春 (haru) can also mean "adolescence, youth". It is the second kanji in another word for "youth": 青春 (seishun).

Is anything different about Maki's brother in the LN? In the WN he meets up with his first love when they visit their hometown. I'm pretty sure she has a kid, and he decides to move back to their hometown to get together with her and becomes a stepdad. I was also wondering if the 'love triangle' situation is different between the LN and WN or if the LN is up to that point yet. Since the WN stops right before we conclude the love triangle arc. Also, final question, does the sports festival arc happen in the LN ts was hella dragged in the WN.

Props to Umi for not giving up but I will have to say cooking and BAKING are two entirely different disciplines.

I never thought of that before, but I gotta admit, baking is its own deal much different from cooking say, roasts or curry. I use an automatic bread maker at home, and even though the thing does a heckuva lot on its own, I still had to play around with water temperature, adjusting water amount, and baking length quite a bit to get nice loaves. And they still don't always turn out the same.

Even quick baking with baking powder and such wouldn't feel intuitive if you're not used to it. I'm using a butter substitute lately because of dietary issues in the family, and it has a tendency to turn cookies into puddles. Hard flat puddles if you bake them long enough. I JUST figured out the fix is to add a little more flour to cookie recipes, and I'm still tweaking exactly how much to add.
