Step siblings, become couple, live together, have parents blessings. Well, they just need to get married to seal their relationship. Just need takes time until graduate high school or college. Since this is novel adaptation and I don't read the novel, I hope there's no unnecessary drama.

This is just like Gimai Seikatsu, but the differencess is they have progress farther.

Sakura gets over the bullying and her choice is to be more careful of the way she interact with people, while not completely trusting them. She try to maintain her position even though it need extra efforts to tread carefully. This is a more common pattern among heroines, they live with daily efforts.

Houri in the other hand, he already managed to build himself a footing. But the author obviously choose the easy way out: tried-and-proven blank character, minimum existing human relationship (easier because less side characters to manage), too much free time (easier to have conveniently empty schedule for incoming romcom “random event” rather than someone who has schedule), can be passive-reactive (no need to think of what to do, no responsibility from taking initiative). Which is the more common pattern with male protagonist.
The back story could allow him to continue build upon what he had made and develop the story with character in that kind of position (no need to be “number 1 in school”, but also not just a “nobody").

Prove me wrong author and make it realistic! A high school couple living together would be all over each other.
