himari's not a real character, there's nothing to sympathize with here, she's just a bag of attributes to move the plot forward but they forgot to make her act like a human

I just realized
I'm curious how much time passed between Saito being with Himari, and then going back home to Akane waiting with dinner on the table.
It looked like nighttime in that transition shot with people outside after moving away from them at the karaoke bar where she was talking about "licking wounds", when they were studying while it was still plenty light out; did he leave immediately after telling her off and head back home to his wife, or...?
Akane also stated "he's late tonight", so. Even assuming "on-time dinner time" is like 6pm (no idea if the sky would be dark at that point in that transition shot in Japan, time-of-year depending, either)...I'm left wondering if he actually rebuffed Himari at the end, there.

I don't think I've ever seen a heroine regress so much. Akane was cute and had appeal very briefly like 20-25 chapters ago and rapidly death spiraled into a character I just want to see lose and be miserable.
Looks like the author finally decided to stop sabotaging her but it's way too late I now dislike her.
