I appreciate the classmates apparently not being entirely useless and the otherworld humans not seeming like irredeemable scum so far.

June 13th, 2026 Update: Sorry for the lack of uploads, but we're currently halting our translations of this work. My TL said he had forgotten how dull the novel feels until Akari actually starts gaining levels and going a bit more wild, which he doesn't even know if we'll really see until 2027 rolls around. You can read a brief summary of Chapters 9 and 10 below.

Chapter 9: Akari visits Arisa's home, the local orphanage. She gives them fruit and the kids love her.
Chapter 10: Akari is interviewed by the guild, where they question her being a mage. Her vampirism is kept hidden but people know she's strong.

I was worried what might happen once they inevitably encounter each other, but the classmates really seem like good guys. It might be the first time I'm seeing the hero reluctant about his title and it not immediately getting to his head.

They should just ask about they're missing friend, no? I kind of want to see the juicy drama of them finding out their friend is (sort of) dead. :meguusmug:

i wonder if it's just a translation change, but monsters/akari had a level cap in the first chapters, marking them as level [1/10]

i wonder if it's gonna "mean" anything, like the students are able to go even further beyond what's possible

The difference between the classmates and monsters is intentional.

Several of the stories I've read have had the monsters capable of evolving when they hit the level cap whereas the "civilised" races do not have a level cap, but also cannot evolve to become stronger.
Usually in those stories their actions and skills affect their possible evolution options.

If female mc is a high-ranking vampire, could Satou be...Demon Lord?

I sincerely hope the classmates don't do anything stupid later on, like, splitting up in an obviously haunted house kinda stupid. Sure, it may make sense from a time saving perspective, but the threat of ghost is right there too! Unless there are extenuating circumstances like rescuing children or such, that gets a pass
