They should just ask about they're missing friend, no? I kind of want to see the juicy drama of them finding out their friend is (sort of) dead. :meguusmug:

i wonder if it's just a translation change, but monsters/akari had a level cap in the first chapters, marking them as level [1/10]

i wonder if it's gonna "mean" anything, like the students are able to go even further beyond what's possible

The difference between the classmates and monsters is intentional.

Several of the stories I've read have had the monsters capable of evolving when they hit the level cap whereas the "civilised" races do not have a level cap, but also cannot evolve to become stronger.
Usually in those stories their actions and skills affect their possible evolution options.
