@trust_noone i'm a bit late but i think it works like this. all the wells are entries into the underworld, but you can only leave through the same one you entered. or maybe she just likes the scenic route, who knows.

Actually, it doesn't matter. Maybe its just objects to you, but from an empathic point of view, she clearly cares alot for that dress, and a worker has completely ruined what she has left of her parents who're dead. Yes, it was wrong to have such an outburst, but you cant blame her for having feelings. Everyone has a breaking point, hers just happened to be the dress.
Kotsume is at fault no matter how you look at it. He dropped the glass, and that was the result. However who's truly at fault here is the people who were supposed to teach him, because everyone aside from poseidon's wife and poseidon himself seemed to be emotionally abusing him. Or at the very least, too fed up with him to teach him. You can say poseidon's a bit merciless here, but if he was truly that merciless he wouldnt have sneaked out after that to soothe kotsume's feelings. Sides, technically he gave kotsume a water ride to the shore he came from, no?
I seriously pity poseidon's wife rn. That poor dress... alas. poseidon must have had a headache over this, too. He must have really liked kotsume, cuz otherwise from all the mistakes he had been doing up til that irreversible mistake, he would have been 'kicked out'. Couldn't be easy to have made a decision like that.
But considering how kotsume had improved so rapidly? Don't you feel suspicious about how that otter senpai of his glared at him, etc etc etc and mentions that he would want his lil bro to be the next retainer? I honestly don't like those retainers. It feels... iffy. Maybe they have their own story, but for now I feel like they near the brunt of the fault...
