She only says that she tried both genders to find out what she liked and what she was. I mean she could also be a cis woman who had doubts about her identity because she was attracted girls?

I'm a trans woman and the main thing in this chapter is both her line about "wanting to figure which one she was" and also Miki, who is a lesbian, claiming she loves all girls while proclaiming her love for tao. Miki is trying to tell tao, I only see you as a woman and I'm super into you. with the knowledge of the fact she's trans you can go back and see all the times she "boymodes" (dresses like a boy despite being a woman), or the fact that she has a separate identity that she doesn't tell others (deadname), or how she never wears anything that might expose her privates. Tao is really good trans rep in my eyes. She's still her own character and the fact she's trans isn't her main gimmick. the fact you couldn't tell right away is also great, because trans people aren't always "clockable" (I'm not a big fan of the word but it mean that you can tell that a person is transgender).

I don't think the author understands the basics of story telling and it fucking shows, the only way you make unlikable toxic characters likable is by not only constantly calling them out on their bullshit through other characters, narrative punishment, but most important GROWTH, OWNER DOES NOT GROW SO WHY SHOULD ANYBODY CARE
