My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined :fml:🚬

No Tsumugu x Tao, no Tsumugu x Saku, no Tsumugu x Tao x Saku, just absolutely nothing
It had such great 2 volumes, and the 3rd one was... painful to read

All the build up in terms of romance was just sent straight to the void, new random annoying "rival" character that added absolutely NOTHING to the story or romance, she was just there, being annoying, and an unsatisfying conclusion which, again, just didn't do anything with characters' relationships

I'm so fucking sad man :shamihuh:🔫

I wanted a more yuri end, but I am satisfied with this. I liked the story overall, the cast was pretty good.
In one of the pages of the final chapter we see Dango with her granma, school friends, and Saku chan. I am lead to believe that Saku actually won over Dango. I just wish we could have seen that.
Still, good enough ending.
Thank you for all your work Hachi7.

So it was bait huh?

If it had more time it could have had at least one fr fr ship (tao x miki) cuz the mc is very metrosexual rather than being yurisexual.

Plot-wise our mc found her mojo again and got to meet and collab with her idol, although she doesn't know it, which is really sweet. It's a nice story but lacking a proper romance plot.

It's a shame because I can see how the new girl would have slotted into the cast. and how things could have developed from here but with the manga ending none of that got to happen so Volume 3 had to finish things up by quickly introducing Nobara so she'd at least get to show up but with none of the time to actually let her exist.

I don't dislike volume 3 but it does show what the story ended up missing in being cancelled.

I'm still kind of in shock that the author wasted almost two full chapters' worth of pages -- nearly 10% of the manga's entire run -- on Ao, a fifth wheel so pointless that immediately after being established she gets relegated to background character status and never does anything relevant again.

Maybe it's just because he didn't know yet it will be axed (or didn't have time to change the story)

I've got such mixed feelings about this manga. It's great overall. The mangaka made it feel heartfelt. Yet that jumbled focus at the end and me just not meshing with specific fashion decisions means I'm sure I won't read it again.

At least we got two of the threads explored
  • Tsumugu made her art with the cast's personalities in mind - The sewing was all offscreen this time, which feels like a loss in a Tsumugu-centric-chapter. A necessary loss for a timeskip but still.
  • Tao got some hefty backstory snuck in, mostly by art, showing her awkward side as a trans girl her unhinged Boss has claimed as property. There's so much story beyond the thread of fitting in, but what we got was surprisingly smooth confirmation.
4/5 characters were good or great. The status quo was alright. Though I can't say I liked the relationship progress let alone Ao as a being. Not with that truncated end. I just love the two threads enough to set aside all the tension that became atmosphere with no resolving turns. If even the fashion was more my speed like in Kamina Botan, maybe I'd reread someday for that alone, but alas.

So it's weird. I sort of love the manga but it's probably among the highest I've rated something I neither actually liked nor appreciably grew from.

It also hurt a little that the author said so little at the end of the Tankobon. At least when an author responds to a quick ending I can put it into perspective easier. Ah well. I look forward to what she creates next. Hopefully by then I can budget throwing money at books.

Saku having green hair feels wrong. She's so axolotl-coded, I always imagined pink.

I'd move heaven and earth for a Tsumugu x Tao standee.

Edit: Oh, and thank you Hachi7 for translating this, and also providing these nice quality images of all the bonus stuff :)
