There were some translation issues. It's fate, not faith. That was one example I remember.
I don't like that the author is making him like this. I wish that it were just mostly good people who can sometimes mess up but are still generally good people. Like here, his yandere-ish attitude. Or him refusing to break up when she said she wanted to. It makes it feel like the author had to plan his character not because it felt like a real person but because the author couldn't keep the plot going otherwise.
