Im trying to sort by "latest updates" + "english releases only". The problem is, i cant seem to find any combination of filters that will let me do this.

The best i can seem to do is "sort by latest updates" + "has english chapters". But this will give me results for, E.G. series with at least 1 english chapter + a recently updated polish chapter.

Am i missing something?

Latest updates is tailored by the settings you've set on your profile. After Interface Language, there's Chapter Language Filter (in which language do you want to read) and Original Language Filter (source material language), scroll down and tick on Content Filter options and optionally set Tag filters just three options below. Save those settings (important), visit latest updates and you'll have what you want to read. Don't change right away the settings again since MangaDex needs a couple of minutes of so to update those changes, it'll act silly otherwise.
Advanced Search can be tailored further and independently from global settings, but once you enter a title any language that's not included in your Chapter Language Filter (from global settings) will be hidden.

Im not sure if we are on the same page here. So for example, my profile has "Chapter Language: English".

When i sort by "latest upload", it will still sort by "latest upload: any language chapter".

I just tried it and this is the "latest upload" result: https://mangadex.org/title/5199b00b-f55d-43d2-bf36-63873adee286/egao-no-taenai-shokuba-desu

But the last english chapter was uploaded 5 months ago, so the latest upload is actually in another language that pushed this series to the top of the result list.

What im trying to do is sort by the latest english upload. So for example, if a english chapter was uploaded 1 minute ago, it would be at the top of the list. But not if it was a polish chapter uploaded 1 minute ago.

@Question2 If you're simply searching for new English chapter releases it'd make more sense using Latest Updates section instead of going to Advanced Search and sort by "Latest Upload", different terms you've been mixing. Since "Latest Upload" is in the Advanced Search and I've already told you this part omits your Settings, it will show you titles that have a chapter uploaded in ANY language. Ticking the box "Has Translated Chapters" in the selected languages, English by default and your case, will show you all those titles that have new uploads and at least one chapter uploaded in that language. It's working as intended, but you're using the wrong section.

The problem is that "latest updates" will not let me add any kind of filters like "only show series with a certain genre".

Yes, but it will sort series by the order of the latest chapter without caring about what language the chapter is in.

Example:

-Chapter Language: English
-Sort by latest upload
-Only show series with at least one english translated chapter
-Genre: Shounen

A shounen series that has at least one english chapter (regardless of when it was uploaded) and 1 polish chapter uploaded in the last 1 minute will appear at the top of the search results. It wont sort search results by the upload date of the latest english chapter.

"Latest updates" seems to do that, but will not let me add any kind of search filters, so i cannot get it to display only shounen series for example.

That's why I explained you in the first message: how to use your settings to make it work like Advanced Search, you can filter by format, genre, theme and content.

That's exactly what I told you it'd keep doing, because "upload" is not the same as "update". It is not meant to overlap with "latest updates" for your target language.

When you say filter, it's filter out right? Or, am I missing something?
For Settings it is, they are always set as exclusive (if someone claims to only read one or two, then just select all the others). For Advanced Search, you can decide on the inclusion/exclusion mode if you scroll down to the bottom.
