It's like the writer's never heard of weight classes. The size difference makes it look like a heavyweight opponent vs a fly or featherweight MC, and there's no fucking way a featherweight is going to one-hit KO a heavyweight.

Also, in no way would a 24-year-old fighter not have any challengers left; even if he started fighting professionally at 18, he'd need at least 2-3 years to get to a major MMA organization and another couple years to become a top 10 fighter who could challenge for the belt. Let's say he's 22 (2 years to get to an MMA org, 2 years to be a top 10 fighter and win the belt), the 2 years left before he turns 24 is not nearly enough time to clear out a division, which is what would be necessary for him to do before the company would even consider putting him in a superfight against somebody way out of his weight class. It would be more believable if he was say, late 20s or early 30s. That, or have this be historical and have it happen in late 90s/early 2000s, when Pride FC openweight grand prix were a thing, but Pride fights happens in rings, not cages, and there hasn't been an openweight MMA grand prix in years, plus, if it was in Pride, there'd be concerns of the "fights" being fixed; even Mark Coleman copped to taking a dive against Nobuhiko Takata in '99 for $50k and a guaranteed second fight.

You, I like you.

And yeah, this feels a bit... cheap. I am fine with him being an utter prodigy with monster control over his own body, being able to hit perfectly on the jaw, but... but at least make them older for gods sake so it makes sense how they have reached this place.

Also, he kicked the guy in the chin, which is a good location sure, but I believe the temple or the side of the jaw would be more ideal spots to try to cause a knockout for a person so way above your own weight class? I ain't no expert though so I could be just assuming shite out of me arse.

Honestly, given the massive weight class difference, he'd be much more likely to get a KO of a liver shot than a shot to the head; given the size difference, the MC just wouldn't be able to generate the force necessary to KO somebody 80+ pounds heavier because he just lacks the body mass to do so, while he could most likely generate enough force on a blow to the liver to drop the guy and make him unable to continue fighting because the liver is basically unprotected, while the head is "protected" by the neck when it comes to headshot KOs, and a HW's neck is going to be way stronger and able to reduce the rattling of the brain inside of the HW's skull on impact than what the MC can deliver.

Basically, the writer has zero understanding of combat sports and just thought something would be cool without an understanding of why it'd never work.

I have read what has been posted of this so far and the guy is almost perfect Gary Stu, with only singular time when he "lost" and even then it isn't even painted as a true defeat.

So imma drop this (have read everything that is translated so far) there has been no real struggle. Not proper one really. There have been "close calls" that honestly weren't close calls.

Seriously, what is with so many stories nowadays being afraid of their protagonist failing plenty of times? That is what makes things more fun, to have people fail and then work hard to succeed next time. I like power trips, but I want power trips that are earned.

I mean, I understand the appeal of a hero who doesn't fail; I Grow Stronger By Eating, Solo Max-Level Newbie and Return of the Disaster Class Hero are all proof that stories featuring nigh infallible heroes can be interesting. The problem is, the MC of this story is a white meat babyface without even an interesting angle to his character because the "this new player has really good control which is why he's good at VRMMOs" is a trope that's been done ad infinitum (Ranker's Return, Sleeping Ranker, Gaming Stream of the Genius, etc), so there's no reason to stick around when there's nothing interesting to hold attention.
