It should be pretty dang hard to distill >80% Ethanol with normal distillation though, since it's so close to the Azeotrope point.

@freelance to kill all bacterias or viruses from a surface you would have to maintain the boiling temperature for a while.

Spreading hot water on the floor will obviously cool the water down so it won't work.
