Did you not read the blurb? She's given birth 5 total times. If she started having kids at 20 and she's 29 now, she could easily have had 8 kids in that time (with time to recover), given that 3 of the deliveries were twins.
That means having multiple births is a thing to Kuru-chan's family, and she inherited it, so...

Well, 100 dollars a month isn't enough to do much of anything here so what's your point? Do japanese men only on average make $100? Cause if so I need to move my ass to japan cause I'll be rich.

Edit: actually $70. 10,000 yen is only $70. So yeah 10,000 wouldn't be enough for him to live by himself, unless Japan's economy is somehow affordable enough to live single on $70 but also so unaffordable that raising 1 kid becomes too much.
Another explanation
Haru's Grandparents (Kuru's parents) must have met during the 1970s/1980s.
The time where Japan's economy was still booming and ordinary people can easily generate as many cash as they want. The possible explanation is that Kuru's parents must have a business that were profitable during the bubble era and they easily support their 10 children

That works. Just to clear I never said he couldn't support 10 kids. I was just wondering where the other guy got 10,000 yen from.

yeah they got twin so its count less giving birth than that they have . and you actually can have another child AFTER a month (or sooner) after giving birth. because I know people who have children once a year but stop at the third child .

I think the timeline of them having like 8-10 kids is in 1980-1990s, because that's during the bubble economy in Japan, they're so rich back then that I believe is quite possible for them economically to have that much kids, and when it comes to Kuru's times maybe the timeline is around 2000-2010s when Japan is already have economic stagnation (Lost Decade) because of Plaza Accord 1985, Recruit Scandal, and Bubble Crash in the 90s, so it make sense that Kuru and her husband till now is still only have 1 child, because economically is so hard for now to have a child let alone multiple child
