Also, there's something to be said about her completely changing her personality and how that would actually strain the relationship - I assume the husband liked her being "too cool for school" and acting above it all, but now she's a clingy lovey-dovey girl and acting in a way she would have previously never done. Perhaps he doesn't like public displays of affection either?

Still, if I stop trying to be some smug big brain critic, this is cute.

My thoughts are the baby is simply there as a "frame of reference" for time having passed.
