She over hears the person she thinks is awful and who her girl thinks is awful make a demeaning remark about being unable to handle an unsophisticated life, immediately decides she needs to go all out to fix this. Why? Why not just like, talk to her first, ask her how she feels, instead of just blindly assuming the guy you already don't trust and think is a piece of shit is telling the truth about her.

Because misunderstanding for drama ig...
And maybe also show that yan wei has a lot of money or doesn't really care much about the upper class lifestyle but is willing to spend money on her wife lol

Because love isn't always rational - the title of the chapter is "jealousy" and that's also your answer.

ALSO if you haven't read the thing till now - Yan Wei is pretty clueless when it comes to human interactions/feelings (even her own).

Sure, but it's irrational and clueless to the point of absurdity, especially for a story that is trying to be an at least somewhat fairly grounded crime drama. Within the realm of her cluelessness and jealousy, it still doesn't make sense in the story for her to just accept what he's saying and dramatically go on a binge thinking he knows best for her when she has spent the whole story trying to prove him wrong. It's like her going "I hate guys who think they know what's best for women", followed by a guy going "Here's what I think is best for women", and her going "He's so right I need to drop everything and do exactly that for women".
