Holy hell Negi is legit a talented storyteller. This is really interesting. Has Death Note vibe all over it. Would love to see this as a series. Maybe the setting need to be changed but the idea of being able to see how people think of others is pretty cool.

Well, any other ending wouldn't be realistic imo! After all this her first interaction with someone after the incident with her old friend! So just being friends, beginning to trust someone, is already a huge step for her!
Beside this dude has his own issues and insecurities! His "love" manifested primarily because she shown no interest in him, hurting his pride but also intriguing him! What will happen in the future we don't know, will they mature as people? After all real love develops after two people get to know eachother! What they call "love" here is simply a crush!
