Create collections for every type of manga.

Much like how it was in mangarock, the option to create a recommended list / collections of mangas.
For example: "time travel isekais" or "zero to heroes" and whatnot u get the point.

"Visibility on the user's MDList" will be one of the options for custom categories, so being able to easily share them will not be an issue

self explanatory.......... has nothing to do with mdlist, follows and other bullshit. Also this would solve all the whining about create this and that bullshit tag/genre.

I and many others have never used Mangarock.

It's ultimately up to the person making the thread to specify what they want. Expecting people to know or look up the specifics isn't very mindful.

If you read certain type of mangas and those are your main interests you would want a recommendation system where people gather those types of manga for everyone. No need to search and dable with the tags not to mention 50% tags on this site is just plain wrong. But people who read the manga know where it belongs and that's where the recommended collections come in.
Tho I can see it being hard to implement. People are glad the site is still going lol

recommendation system is planned, all we need left is a nolife to collect mangas to people liking.
the site is user based. with tags got misused a lot, someone need to do it manually and i bet mods wont bother do it one by one.
they're busy people with busy life doing busy things, like v5.
also nobody will expect edit wars in said collection, right?
since mdlist is a thing here, it will be really easy to implement. surprise surprise.

I used MR for years and I barely looked at tags cause of these recommended collections were a GODSENT help.
Most users miss MR purely because of that alone.

Those collections were curated by MR themselves iirc bc they even had descriptions in it. If it'd be implemented here it should be something user based, MR had profits so they had the money to hire people to do that lol. I think the recommendation system planned will suffice, it won't be in collections but it'll do the job.

Anyways I always thought if the custom categories could be shared and could be posted some place in the new forums or something like how spotify has people sharing playlists in their subreddit.

@konzolmester you've mentioned this in a couple of threads. Not a mangarock user so I just want to make sure I'm understanding what you're suggesting. My understanding or impression. You would have a collection or list of manga, say comedy that are recommended. So if I'm looking for comedy I would pull up the collection and then look down the list. If this is correct was there a way to narrow it down? Say I look at the comedy collection but I want the focus to be on a specific area, maybe cooking or delinquents or supernatural.

@semicharmed That's what I wrote, users should create their own type of lists like: idk... "isekaid shota heroes" anything that specifies those mangas better than the tags alone. So after the user put this list togeater he can share it and will get recommended with a few tags slapped on is to be revelant for the people.
But the main thing is the naming of those lists so people will know what to excpect.
It's rather simple realy, requires no funding or extra manpower to do, just need's to be implementet.
