I've noticed there is a lot of MD's announcements and overall concern in the scanlation community about high-tech topics like optimized image compression, user interfaces for javascript readers, etc.
Let's face the hard reality head-on: using Photoshop is far from being the most advanced technological issue faced by the scanlation community. There is a lot to say about on topics ranging from Discord bots to advanced image processing (compression, denoising, upscaling, un-watermarking), to web infrastructure, to image downloaders, etc.
I've also noticed there are a lot of small programs on the web made by independent scanlators, such as the "polite Mangadex downloader", the "Comic compiler", browser extensions to read/download raws or releases, executable versions of Waifu2X, and all sorts of tools that can come in handy.
That's why I suggest the creation of a new forum category to discuss such high-tech topics.
Since MD seems constantly under development and expanding, I guess having a place to gather developpers may have positive side-effects for recruitment issues when new big development projects arise.
Having some programming contesets on scanlation themes might be fun too, although it is of course not a priority.
