No no no, a painting that is alive and attracts the supernatural is still weirder than someone destroying your art in highschool. That's just a grudge speaking.

Why did you translate "only people that look like magicians" as "only supernatural"? The bad relationship between magicians and creepy cats was already brought up in one of the previous chapters so Oscar actually makes a good point that maybe Flora, an owner of a creepy cat, shouldn't work for a magician-looking person.

I know some of us suspected this already, but looks like oscar destroyed her art one way or another. I'm just happy that Flora managed to find a job, even if it might be under supernatural circumstances

Good for Flora! 😊
And as for Oscar.......Creepy, it's okay to bite harder.
Also notice how neither Hime nor Kokoro are coming to his rescue.

@InedibleSpook I chose to translate it like that because the last person to look at it was literally death. While yes I agree there is the connection between Creepy and magicians, I felt supernatural still conveyed the feeling. Also how is Oscar able to look at red haired women and be like "that bitch is a magician.", Hell Creepy ran the moment Chilo came to the door but had no problem standing a foot away from this women. The only other person we are shown that he sees take an interest in the picture is what looks like the grim reaper. I will keep in mind the magician connection and only change it if I can't find a way to phrase it naturally in English.

Actual plot spoiler->
I didn't even think red hair women was a magician until she revealed herself(I'm sure it came up in dialog but I can't read Japanese), how do you expect Oscar aka "Mr.dense as bricks" to look at her and think shes a magician.

Lol do these people still worry about the supernatural? At what point of time did this manga even have a normal scene? Just support her mf. Eat him creepy.

Yep. Oscar's the one existence in the story that is actively not enjoyable, because of how poorly are his interactions with the MC, and how poorly it portrays the MC as a 2D career-woman who can see nothing but her cat and her work.
Now that I think about it, Oscar's sole character trait of "must pursue my woman 'till the end" reminds me of the dying cliche of ye-olde romantic trope of "wearing down your woman by consistently and persistently courting her until she marries you", when in modern terms that'd equate to: "being a clueless stalker who can't take a hint."

I'm still hoping that Oscar will "get a hint", but I really doubt it at chapter 232. Probs just gonna auto-skip anything Oscar.

@Solipsist The next few arcs seem to focus more on Floras and Oscars past relation ship and him being more developed as a character. Spoiler for tomorrows page
Next page is the start of a few pages of highschool flash backs with Oscar and Flora

@Darthskippy A mysterious person in hooded robes without a scythe could easily be a cultist worshipping the devil or Elder gods but I won't deny that "Mr. Death" was my first association too, lol.
"Also how is Oscar able to look at red haired women and be like..."
Clearly he is a very judgemental person, though I am not sure if calling red haired women and people in robes "supernatural" is any better. I can only assume there were other weirdos taking interest in Flora's picture. Oscar already jumped to a conclusion that the owner of a vampire hotel was a vampire so I don't think it's too much of a stretch for him to see a bunch of people in strange clothes taking an interest in a supernatural painting and say they look like witches.

As for Creepy hiding from the spooky policeman, he was hiding from Oscar in some chapters too.

@InedibleSpook For the Vampire one I assume he knew it was shady and looked into it finding the anemic cases and made the distinction that anemic -> blood loss-> vampire.

Honestly I probably give Oscar less credit for how smart he is than he deserves, but I still don't see how he picks up on Red hair women. I think that everyone else that looked at the painting were weirdos and he just thought that since she bought it she must also be weird.

If anything, I don't understand why the author CONSTANTLY shows us Oscar trying to get close to Flora and Flora shooting him down.
Like, that seems to be their sole point of interaction. It's honestly just tiresome at this point.
