The update is slow and still stuck at volume 18
Put aside the historical facts here, the Story is really good
Yeah this is love with 3000 years gape

The first three chapters are terrible. The scans are garbage and need much better cleaning. The translation is awful, she really needs a real qa and editor. But ignoring that, it is still hard to see how this is award-winning. The graphic design (layout, transitions, panels etc.) ,is miserably bad. It's like a sixth grader threw these pages together.
You like the story? Well, you must be enjoying the original, because what's online here sucks. Maybe it gets better, but life is too short for me to stick with this.

@Acarphinus the first three chapters were from 2006. The resources they had then wasn't the same of what we have now. They didn't have advanced things that the group were able to work on to make it better quality or better equipment usage. Esthetique shut down years ago, so henceforth they won't even see your messages anymore. You can't expect things to be perfect and better quality when back in the day, everything seems higher quality. Our eyes adjust from the improvement of the quality overtime. Back then, it seems HQ. But now since our eyes and brains improved, it looks low quality. It isn't easy translating, if you think that translating is the easiest thing ever for these people. They did this for free and for volunteer. They didn't do it to get paid. They used their own money to buy the raws and those raws are shipped to them. So they scan the pages and cleaned them the best they could.

What garbage are you talking about Acarphinus ?
Those chapters are not so bad, if you want to see some terrible scanlation (both in cleaning and typesetting) look for Cleopatra DC,
these are HD in comparison.

@NibbPower what are you talking about? Esthetique only got quiet recently, the last post on their website is from the end of May, and they may still come back.

Also those scans are not so bad. I've seen and got through much worse. Sure, could be better, but calling them garbage is kinda too much.

I never mentioned anything about it being horrible. I was directing my message to the person who was talking trash about Esthetique.

Also another thing to point out, I suggest you read before you make assumption. I never once said anything about Esthetique quality. All I mentioned was that our sight improve on quality. And the person talking trash was Acarphinus.

@Acarphinus This manga is one of the manga that put the groundwork for modern shoujo. You should remember that this manga started in 1976. At that time, it was after the war, there weren't a lot of manga and the standards were different than our modern day. You could take Dragon Ball for example, about plot and art, it is inferior to our modern day shonen but at that time, it was a masterpiece.

How is possible, that the translation of the first chapters are so different? (I mean the difference between the translation of the one group and translation of the second group.) I don't mean it bad. I am just really interested.

I've always been waiting for the update chapter. I love this manga so much. Thanks @mistyrainscans for the translation.
Anyway, @goronyanpai, do you still reading glass mask ? I ever collecting the comic but now iam not buying it anymore. So, do u know until what chapter is it now?
