Frankly, I hate the half-naked dinosaurs. You either go for the avian scutes on the tyrannosaurid or just use a feathery covering. This is just reptilian scales. With fur-like substances slapped into it.
If it doesn't bother much (as in you can squeeze the dialogs into the bubble), then I'd prefer the 1st one, easier to read. Otherwise, both're fine for me
Font 1 easy easier to read as it looks less squashed. Font 2 looks like it was made for a horror story, but not one that requires as heavy reading as this series has.
Font 1 seems better for normal people. Font 2 for horror villains.
Font 2 matches the art better and with the way is weighted and slanted it makes it harder for someone with dyslexia to flip stuff without noticing. But it too small and compact, making it harder to read at times, especially with a smaller screen.
Font 1 is basically the opposite. It's height and character width make it easier to read, but it's thinness and the ununiform stroke and weighting make it harder for the eyes to focus smoothly. (For me this is causing an optical illusion effect, where the background and character stroke are fighting for foreground focus.)
A wider & larger font 2 I think would be best. But a bolder font 1 with maybe a lower font size could work well too. But finding something that's closer to a hybrid of the two would be your best bet.
