PREDICTION TIME!!! After seeing the msj MC not only keeps looking for more msjs but Mao finds him looking at her phone which makes her get mad at him (who wouldn't, I mean that's invasion of privacy), since MC is so freaking dumb he won't fully get why she is mad and angry at him which in turn will create some misunderstandings all the while MC will get in contact with his sns friend (aka Nanoka) asking for advice and telling her the whole story which in turn will make her act on impulse in order to stop him from going out with Mao by either asking him for a sudden reunion or she may (reaaaaally not likely but who knows) confess to him making him instantly forget about his faintly blooming feelings for Mao and instantly accept her confession making Mao heart broken and making their relationship more awkward than it already was before.

How's that for a prediction from experience from reading too much shoujou manga.
Based on unwritten rule of shoujou manga #1:
•Childhood friend will never get MC.
•If childhood friend gets MC it's because MC has not completely figured out their feelings for main opposite gender MC making childhood friend become more heart broken after MC realizes their feelings than childhood friend would have been before dating MC.
•MC will never accept childhood friend's feelings for dear of ruining current relationship with childhood friend or more commonly because MC is too stupid to realize them until something bad happens or childhood friend gives up.

kind of a breath of fresh air really for a love triangle classic romance like this where one is a childhood friend to actually be this aggressive. Its all just up to the MC to sort out his feelings. Japanese people are the sentimental type and they prefer taking their time so loving someone because they're pressured into it happens less often. So Daichi gotta man up and decide whether he's being pressured to love her or genuinely loves her
