@Volttekka The author isn't entirely wrong. Low cloth prices rely on fast fashion and economy of scale. If you lose a size-able portion of the customer base, especially the portion with the highest consumption rate (young consumers & fashion-focused consumers) then the current systems that keep clothing prices low aren't going to work as well anymore.

They aren't putting up prices to attract customers. It's that the suppliers are raising prices because of market conditions, and the stores are just marking it up in correspondence.
