That is an interesting thought come to think of it. Early on, nobody thought Chitose (earth girl) would have ever become a possible love interest because there was no interest or chemistry between them before, then one day author decided to just turn her into one. I guess it'd be possible with Sakura too.

EDIT: And like someone else pointed out earlier, Roka more-or-less got demoted from love interest to mascot, so its anyone's game.
