Well, as far as I know animes (originals not included) are made because of two reasons: to boost manga/LN sales and because the anime is in itself profitable. The reason they don’t make a second season is probably because the manga sells well enough that it doesn’t need a boost or the first season wasn’t profitable enough (or profitable at all) in terms of sales or boosting to the manga.

There are also some more complicated, specific or simple reason I can think of but it would just be me guessing around.

But it's a shame indeed, i just hope that if they do release a second season they don't butcher it like they did with the third season of school rumble.
